Meet the Maker
Joseph Carpenter
Joseph Carpentry is a Cardiff-based studio specialising in the design and build of interiors, kitchens, commercial spaces, and standalone furniture pieces. I founded the studio in 2017.
In an attempt to rail against nominative determinism — and follow the family trade rather than the family name — I originally trained as a graphic designer. However, after several years working as a designer and project manager, I found the pull too strong and felt drawn to making things with more permanence.
My approach draws on the skills developed in design, paired with those acquired through making, allowing me to work closely with clients to realise the full potential of their projects.
